Roasted Dandelion and Reishi Tea



This is one of my favorite tea blends. The roasted, nutty flavor of the Dandelion root hides the somewhat bitter flavor of the reishi, which is a mushroom known for its many health benefits. Both are outstanding for supporting the liver health.


Ingredients:

2 tablespoon of Roasted Dandelion

1 slice of Reishi

Optional additions - 1 cinnamon stick OR 1/2 teaspoon of dried ginger OR 1 teaspoon fresh minced ginger. OR vanilla extract to taste or a combination of these.


Directions: Simmer the Reishi and Dandelion in 2 cups of water for 30 minutes to 1 hour. You can also put this in a slow cooker on a low setting overnight but you may need to add more water.

Strain when done. Drink within 1 day.


Dandelion is primarily a detoxifying herb for Pitta and Ama conditions. It is specific for problems of the breastand mammary glands, breast sores, tumors, cysts, suppression of lactation, swollen lymph glands. It clears and cleanses the liver and gall bladder and dispels accumulated and stagnated Pitta and bile.
